Click here to see the other areas which we cover When taking Lessons it is essential that pupils follow a planned and structured programme, At Sykes driving school you will be given Structured driving Tuition by your driving instructor with your driving lessons following a logical sequence according to the DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY (DSA) syllabus. Help and Advice on theory training will be given by your driving instructon throughout the course of your driving lessons free of charge, including the supply of Free driving Theory Mock Test papers. Sykes Driving Instructors comply with the DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY's code of conduct contract and are highly experienced and licenced and Regulated by the DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY ( DSA )and thoroughly committed to helping you pass your driving test in the shortest time possible whilst at the same time ensuring you become safe, confident and competent in your driving. Your instructor will give you continuous feedback on your progress and guidance during your lessons and advise on when to apply for your driving test. The DSA guide for the average number of driving lessons required by someone to prepare for the practical driving test is one and half hours per year of age. This can vary according to the individual but may serve as a rough guide. It takes on average 12 months of training to become a driving instructor, so it makes sense to learn with a DSA driving instructor to make sure that the correct syllabus is followed. It can also help to have some private practise with a friend or relative to make sure you follow up all the things you learn in your lessons. The Driving Standards Agency say that a learner on average takes 46 hours of tuition with 22 hours of private practice*. *Source: Driving standards agency website June 2005
